The Alpaca 7.5 > 10.5 Tog duvet is a premium quality light weight duvet perfect for Spring or Autumn months or hot sleepers. This duvet is manufactured using 100% natural Alpaca fillings and is soft, lightweight and naturally body temperature regulating due to its all natural Alpaca upholstery fibres.

These natural Alpaca fibres are hygroscopic , in other words they absorb moisture very efficiently , more than 30% of their own weight in water without feeling wet or damp. Think hiking socks. This is especially useful in a sleeping environment where we all perspired up to 2 litres of water a night. This is then released back into the air , by a phenomenon known scientifically as the ‘heat of sorption’. So as the fibre absorbs moisture in a high humidity environment , it produces heat.

In contrast, in a low humidity environment , natural fibre will lose moisture(desorption), becoming cooler. This buffering effect works to keep the sleeper in the perfect temperature zone. Keeping it simple , we know that natural fibres keep us cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
