In case of lighter soiling: Vacuum, use a clothes roller or hand dry after using a sponge and lukewarm water. Shake and air sheep/lambskins regularly for the best lustre and shape, and it is better to do this on a day there is damp in the air. Do not subject the sheepskin to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
In the case of coarser soiling: Skins with a wool length of up to 35mm can be washed in the washing machine. Skins with full length wool should not be washed in the washing machine. Use a mild detergent (wool shampoo) with a ph-value of 3.5 – 5.5, which is free from enzymes, phosphates, peroxides, alkalis and bleaches. Coarser soiling on the skins should be soaked in cold water before washing. Wash in the washing machine and chose the wool program/30 degrees. Always use a lot of water. It is okay to use spin but avoid using the tumble dryer and absolutely no tumble drying with heat. Do not use bleach or conditioner. Sheep/lambskins should be hung up or dried flat in room temperature. Work, (drag and rub) the skin whilst still damp to keep the skin flexible. Do not iron. Sheepskins can even be dry cleaned by a specialist. Do not subject the sheepskin to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
The Shepherd of Sweden Lena Bean Bag. Made with Only the finest Sheepskins
Craftsmanship has always been close to our hearts. The combination of Scandinavian design and genuine craftsmanship gives us timeless and beautiful quality products. Shepherd's products are made from real sheepskin and most of it is produced in our own factory. In this way, we have control and take responsibility for the entire chain from the preparation of the raw skin to the finished final product. Our skilled employees do most things by hand, from cutting out the different parts to sewing together the final product. If you have experience from over seven decades, you know that the feel of the hand and the precision of the fingers are unbeatable tools.
We have chosen to work with sheepskin and sheep wool because it has completely unique properties and functions that no other material can reach. It keeps warm when it's cold, and it feels cool when it's hot. Sheepskin is also naturally antibacterial and has dirt-repellent properties. By airing and airing at regular intervals in high humidity, you keep the sheepskin clean and fresh for a long time without having to wash it. The living structure of the skin and the movement in its texture make each product completely unique and completely natural. Therefore, sheepskin never ceases to fascinate us.
