This mattress is filled with the finest natural materials including British fleece wool, cotton and horsetail. Britain's changeable climate produces wool that is uniquely soft, springy and strong. Vispring is the only bed maker to use 100% Platinum Certified British fleece wool, which is regarded as the best in the world. Hypo-allergenic, breathable and ten times more absorbent than synthetic materials, British wool is the ideal filling for mattresses. Horsetail is the longest natural fibre, it has been an essential element of upholstery and bed making for generations. It contributes unparalleled springiness to Vispring mattresses. Finally, cotton is used as it is highly absorbent and naturally breathable, it is uniquely hygienic – wicking away moisture to preserve your comfort throughout the night.
Pressure Relieving Pocket Springs
The mattress has 1720 pocketed springs (based on a king-size mattress), 48mm in diameter, sewn into individual calico pockets and hand formed into a honeycomb-nested unit. Vispring places every spring under compression in natural calico pockets, so they offer immediate resistance to your body weight. The pockets contain the springs while allowing them to work independently, gently supporting you from head to toe as you sleep. Vispring craftsmen hand-nest the pocket springs in a honeycomb pattern that maximises the support offered and minimises the gaps, for exceptional resilience and comfort in every mattress. The mattress is hand tufted with felt washers and benefits from three rows of genuine hand side stitching with flax twine.
