The Vispring Shetland bed contains Platinum Grade British fleece wool, blended with real Shetland Isle fleece wool. This model is part of the all Vispring Shetland Isle wool bed collection and offers exceptional comfort. Thanks to this noble fibre's unique springiness, the Shetland bed combines softness with a satisfyingly supportive feel. The finishing touches to the bed are fine worsted wool upholstery and hand-tied woollen tufts to offer excellent support and comfort, coupled with a Wool Prestige luxury divan base; featuring 950 pocketed springs and the finest British fleece wool upholstery.
The bed contains a total of 1,720* pocket springs that are sewn into individual calico pockets and hand-formed into a honeycomb-nested unit. Vispring exclusively adds Vanadium to it's spring steel to make an alloy that retains it's strength and suppleness for longer than standard steel. This high-specification steel alloy allows Vispring to make springs with smaller gauge wire for sumptuous, sustained comfort.

The bed is beautifully upholstered with 600gsm of softly needled British fleece wool, then 950gsm hand-teased real Shetland Isle fleece wool, overlaid with two layers of 300gsm British fleece wool. Vispring has become the first UK bed-maker to be awarded the Woolmark for its luxurious collection of all wool beds. Recognised around the world, the respected Woolmark is synonymous with quality and guaranteed wool content.
The Vispring Shetland bed underwent rigorous independent testing to comply with the Woolmark’s quality and performance criteria. The Shetland mattress is 21cm deep with three rows of genuine hand side-stitching, features eight horizontal handles (on king-size and above), air vents on all sides and the borders are upholstered in protective wool, and finished with piped ticking.
The Finest Worsted Wool Mattress Cover
The upholstery fillings and pocket springs are all wrapped in your choice of fine worsted wool upholstery fabric from the Vispring fabric collection with a choice of Ecru (TICK-851) or Pebble (TICK-850). The Shetland bed is hand tufted with hand-tied woollen tufts and twine and benefits from three rows of genuine hand side stitching with flax twine. This gives the mattress an exquisite, tailored finish, but more importantly it gives supportive strength to the mattress edges that lesser beds need a metal rod to achieve.
The Wool Prestige Divan
The Shetland mattress partners the Wool Prestige divan base, 950* pocketed springs on a glued and screwed solid timber frame. Two layers of 250gsm heavily needled British fleece wool, overlaid with 600gsm softly needled British fleece wool.
