The Vispring Signatory Mattress is one of the best mattresses from Vispring beds and is on display at our store in Horsham, Horsham Bedding Centre. The mattress contains staggering amounts of the finest natural fillings such as hand teased Platinum certified real Shetland wool blended with Cashmere, real Shetland Isle and British fleece wool, Moosburger horsetail, blended Platinum certified real Shetland wool and natural cotton.

Comfortable and Breathable Natural Fillings

The fillings within the mattress provide the softest covering for thousands of Vispring unique pocket springs, hand-laid in a double layer for definitive comfort and superb support with the Signatory. The mattress contains 2,664* pocket springs, 51mm in diameter, sewn into individual calico pockets and handformed into a honeycomb-nested unit, constructed with two layers of springs. Vispring are the inventors of the pocket spring and have always used 6 coils as the optimum amount in each spring, VI (in Roman numerals), hence the name VI-Spring. Vispring believe that sleeping on the right bed can be a truly life-changing experience.

The Vispring Signatory Mattress, Crafted by Hand in Devon

The Vispring Signatory mattress is hand-made to order in the company’s workshops in Plymouth, Devon. Vispring work with an uncompromising approach, but because sleep is such a deeply personal part of life, it’s really the only way to ensure that every mattress is not only supremely comfortable, but also fits its owner like a glove. The mattress is beautifully upholstered with British fleece wool, then 1,525gsm hand-teased long-stranded horsetail blended with real Shetland Isle fleece wool, silk and mohair, enclosed in a hair-proof cambric cover and overlaid with 1,200gsm blended real Shetland Isle fleece wool and cotton.

As a result, the fibre works in harmony with your body, keeping you warm in winter and cooler in summer, to enhance the quality of your rest. Selecting the finest horsetail is only the start of the story. Master craftsmen carefully weigh the correct quantity of horsetail, then open and tease the coils of hair by hand to enhance its natural springiness. This is all wrapped in your choice of fine worsted wool upholstery fabric from the Vispring fabric collection. The mattress is hand tufted with hand-tied woollen tufts and twine and benefits from four rows of genuine hand side stitching with flax twine. This gives the mattress an exquisite, tailored finish, but more importantly it gives supportive strength to the mattress edges that lesser beds need a metal rod to achieve.
