Description
Introducing the stunning Weaver Green Diamond Dove Grey Blanket. These new larger blankets are very similar to our original design while offering a more generous size and an improved yarn. Softer and more refined than their predecessors, these new-look 130 x 250cm blankets are just as strong and practical and offer the same look and feel as wool. From super king-size bed and sofa throws to luxury picnic blankets and the ultimate glamping accessory, our beautiful Diamond Dove Grey Blankets are incredibly versatile:
Soft, stain-resistant, machine washable and great for indoor or outdoor use, these large grey throw blankets are perfect for pet owners, red wine lovers and beachgoers. Moths won’t eat them, and dust mites won’t live in them, so they are great for allergy sufferers, too.
Our best-selling dove grey has a lovely greeny tone across all of our ranges.
Please note, if purchasing to sit alongside our original diamond blanket range, there will be a small difference in the weave.
The Weaver Green Diamond Dove Grey Blanket. Made entirely from recycled plastic bottles β nothing else!
Made entirely from up to 3000 recycled plastic bottles and with the soft feel of wool or Jute, Weaver Green rugs and textiles are machine washable, moth proof, easy to clean, mould resistant, UV stable, hardwearing and perfect for use indoors in kitchens, under dining tables, in bathrooms, hallways and outside on garden terraces and in summer houses.
Tasha and Barney Green were travelling in Asia and found a very rudimentary fishing rope made from unravelled plastic bottles being used to tether boats. Barney has a long history in the flooring industry, working with weaving houses throughout the world to develop and sell sisal, coir and wool rugs and fitted flooring, and Tasha runs an organic drinks company and organic orchard, and has collected antique textiles for many years. With a strong environmental ethos, both Barney and Tasha felt that there was an opportunity to turn some of the 135 billion plastic bottles that end up in our seas and landfill each year, into beautiful, practical rugs and home textiles that offered a great environmental solution to recycling some of the existing plastic in the world, and in making our homes more beautiful at the same time.
The key challenge has been to turn hard plastic into the lovely soft open fibres that we have today, so that the yarn genuinely has the look and feel of wool. This process has taken 7 years to perfect, and we now have a robust, soft yarn that is machine washable, stain resistant, suitable for indoor and outdoor use and most importantly environmentally friendly.
We hand loom all our lovely textiles and use artisans throughout Europe, Scandinavia and Asia to make gorgeous, soft handmade rugs, throws and bags.
